Grit, Beauty, and Our Newest Projects
As we wind down the last week of June, we are reminded how important grit is to business and delivering on promises and schedules. Grit according to esteemed psychologist and author Angela Duckworth is all about perseverance and making sure that you attain your goals whatever the challenges.
We are fortunate to do business in one of the strongest markets in the country in Charlotte, in a region that has never rested on its laurels and one capable of overcoming challenges and crises whether a major financial crisis or a pandemic.
Like Charlotte and so many in our area, we are nimble and adaptive and have expertise in office, industrial, and retail ground-up construction and build-out as well as adaptive re-use, building restoration, and site improvement and infrastructure work.
At SEC, we know that it is all about showing up and making good on the commitments made. Thanks for your support of our business and for taking the time to read about our most recent news.
This spring saw us work on a mix of projects ranging from smaller office and specialty projects to a church and getting started on a large retail project for Hope Beauty Supply in the booming University City area. We started and completed work for two of our repeat corporate customers that we always enjoy serving – Elements Brands and TelWare.
This project gallery will provide a quick glimpse of some of our work. As they say, every picture tells a story and is worth a thousand words.
Pipeline and Looking Forward
Our current pipeline suggests a healthy mix of projects through the end of the year. As you have probably heard, materials and specialty products can be a challenge these days in both commercial and residential construction. We are keeping our fingers crossed that our project schedules are not impacted significantly. Suppliers report needing drivers to deliver products in addition to having supply chain issues with materials shipped from outside the United States.
Meet John McCaskill – Our Newest Superintendent
A native of Charlotte and graduate of Myers Park High School, John is our newest employee. Prior to joining SEC, John worked as a project manager and estimator at another firm and owned his own woodworking and remodeling company.
Outside the office, John still enjoys woodworking in addition to playing guitar in Chris Whitaker’s band.
We appreciate the support from all of our clients and referral sources in the commercial real estate community. Relationships, repeat business, and referrals are cornerstones of our business and thus, vital to our success. Let us know how we can help you or one of your clients.
